Piano Tuition
As a member in good standing with the Music Teacher Association of California, there are certain guidelines to which I strictly adhere regarding missed lessons, the billing process and late fees. These guidelines are consistently maintained, and cannot be altered as they allow the business portion of piano lessons to flow smoothly and equitably. Currently, my rates for piano lessons are as follows:

NOTES-
1. To reschedule an appointment, a minimum of 2-hour advanced notice by text is required.
2. Otherwise, clients have to responsible for the financial lost.
3. Please use mypianotime.com to reschedule.
4. Credits will be valid for ONE YEAR with uninterrupted paid enrollment.
5. Credits cannot be used to reduce tuition for the next invoice.
6. A make up lesson cannot be rescheduled again!
7. No credits or refunds for the cancelled make up lessons.
8. Studio is operating year round; therefore attendance is expected during summer months.
9. Re-enrollment fee is $200 to put client’s name back on studio roster.
10. One month paid written notice needed to terminate this policy.
11. Paying for service means abiding to this policy

Termination

The decision to quit lessons should not be a snap one. If a parent is considering taking their child out of lessons it should be a process, starting with discussion with the teacher, and hopefully troubleshooting to solve whatever issues are causing problems. Then, even if the decision is made to quit, it is invaluable to have a few "closure" lessons, where the teacher can plan to round things off and end on a positive note. Sometimes students get caught in the middle of an argument or problem between their parent and the teacher and can be left feeling like it is somehow their fault - that the teacher is "firing" them, or that they didn't do well enough. No matter what the situation is, if we can preserve the good feeling, even through the process of quitting lessons, then we are doing the best for the student, as well as ourselves.

Steps of Termination:

  1. Schedule a parents conference with your teacher to discuss the possibility of termination

  2. Be honest with your teacher about your reasons so that I can find a solution. If you cannot be honest, then I cannot help you to find the perfect solution.

  3. Continue for FOUR more lessons to see if the situation improves after being offered a “solution”

  4. If you decide to terminate after four lessons, any refund will be processed in between 15 to 30 days after we agree upon the amount and method of refund.

  5. After you receive your refund, complete an “Exit Survey” online provided

  6. All outstanding pending make-up lessons needed to be completed in two months from the date that the termination notice is given.

  7. Returning students after termination will be paying a new student rate instead of the grandfather's rate
